The Christmas season is finally here and you know what that means: Christmas movies! When asked, BPHS students had these preferences: The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, The Santa Clause, Home Alone, Elf, and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Other ones people enjoyed were Deck the Halls, Christmas with the Kranks, Mickey’s Christmas Carol, The Polar Express, Merry Christmas Drake and Josh.

, BPHS junior Marco Villegas’ favorite Christmas movie is Home Alone. “It brings my childhood back and it’s funny,” he said.

Channels including NBC, Freeform, Hallmark, Nick, TCM, ABC, have been airing Christmas movies since November 5th. Tune in to Freeform on Christmas Day to watch a Christmas movie marathon from 7 A.M. to 10 P.M.

Some people aren’t as excited for the Christmas season. “I hate Christmas with a passion!” says Kevin Lam, a senior at BPHS. Since he is Jewish, he doesn’t celebrate Christmas. He also hates Hanukkah.

Since Netflix’s streaming feature came around in 2009, it became easier for people to watch Christmas movies. A few great Christmas movies on Netflix are Christmas with the Kranks, Scrooged, Miracle on 34th Street, The Santa Clause, and The Legend of Frosty the Snowman. Personally, my favorite movie is The Nightmare Before Christmas although many people argue that it is not a Christmas movie, I love it. I like the storyline and all of the characters. I especially love the director, Tim Burton.
