POMONA, CA– The Los Angeles County Fair began September 2 and ended on the 25 of September. The LA County Fair was started in 1922 by C.B. Afflerbaugh and soon led to the fair Californians know and love.fair-overview

The LA County fair was a great place to hang out with friends and family and just have an overall good time. Entrance to the fair was $14 and an unlimited ride wristband was $50. However, the fair did offer many good deals like bringing school supplies and getting a free admission among many more. The fair was overall very cheap for the amount of attractions and activities there are to do there.

Rides are a must have at fairs and the LA County Fair sure had them. It mainly had attractions that spun, so you had to make sure you didn’t have a big lunch before going on. The fair did have more soothing and easy going attractions, like a fun house that has a hilarious mirror maze and a slide at the end. G-force is a very popular ride that consists of a giant mechanical like arm that swings you around and around until you’re left with a smile on your face and a missing hat. There were only a couple of roller coasters but nothing too large due to the fact that the fair is only temporary. For those daredevils who do like those extreme rides, there were a couple, like a giant ax that swings you around while you’re high in the sky and one that took you up about 100 feet and dropped you all the way down in a matter of seconds.

er4For the people who don’t like roller coasters there were still a number of things to do while you’re there. One of the most popular was the petting zoo, where you could see and pet animals like goats and sheep for free. They also had bunny corals and chick pens to see the cute critters play around in their habitats. There were a couple of tents with exaggerated animals, like a huge alligator and enormous snake. There was also a tiny town of toy trains and houses which you could walk through to feel as if you were a giant.

The watercolor garden always had fresh flowers and amazing plants and artwork to look at. It was refreshing to walk through the garden and just look at the pretty lights and plants after a long day of excitement.

The food portions were very large compared to the food you eat at home. The turkey legs cost $12 and were huge. However, they were on the dry side when it came to flavor. The fries, on the other hand, were very good and were offered with almost any combo meal. For those people that don’t like to try new things, there were well known restaurants like King Taco and Subway to purchase from.

In conclusion, the fair was great for just about anyone from all ages and is perfect for dates, family trips, or to go see your favorite artists like Iggy Azalea, Gabriel Iglesias and many more I give it a 4.5/5 stars.
