Braves are Neck and Neck with Lobos

BALDWIN PARK,CA–  On August 25 at Baldwin Park High School, the Baldwin Park Braves Frosh football team faced the Workman Lobos and the teams tied, 8-8.

The game started off strong with Brave Isaac Valdivia scoring a safety in the early minutes of the game. Both teams traded possession of the ball back and fourth without any scoring due to the strong defense from both teams.

Nearing the end of the first half, Valdivia came away with a touchdown, putting the Braves up 8-0. During halftime, the Braves and Lobos recharged their energy while preparing for the second half. No team managed to score in the third quarter but a Brave was injured and had to be subbed out.

In the fourth quarter, the Lobos made a comeback, charging down the field with a 1:13 left as they threw a touchdown pass, leaving them only down by two. With 0:46 left on the clock, the Lobos got ready to pounce, while the Braves toughened down their defenses.

The Lobos managed to sneak by the Braves, scoring a two point conversion and tying the score. The Braves’ final efforts were to no avail due to the small amount of time left as they were only able to get halfway to the end zone.

Football player Anthony Munoz said “ It was a good defensive game.”
