Timothy Lam, a varsity runner for the Baldwin Park Cross Country and Track teams, was recently acknowledged for all his years of hard work in his athletic and academic endeavors by receiving the Montview Scholar Athlete award.
Lam has been an essential part of the Baldwin Park high school athletics organization; he has been a member of the basketball, football, cross country, and track teams. Being a four year member of the track and cross country teams Lam stated, “My four years in track and field and cross country were amazing. I met many great people, showed leadership and everyone just pushed themselves to their limits.” He participated in the California Boy’s Scholar Association and is the recipient of the Woman’s Club Scholarship. Being a first generation college student Lam has been accepted and will attend the University of California, Irvine, where he will be majoring in the field of pharmaceutical science.
When asked to comment on his time spent at Baldwin Park, Lam commented “I’d like to acknowledge my coach first of all, for always believing in me and being there, but also my teammates for pushing me.”
