iLove New Designs, Apple!

The iPhone is said to be returning to a model that they previously had before with the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S; a glass design.

The goal of Apple is to make more distinctive designs from other smartphones with metal bodies to boost slow ongoing sales, especially with its competitor, Samsung. Sales growth has also slowly come to a stop recently, because some Apple fans were disappointed with the lack of new features in the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.

AppleInsider and Forbes have taken note of this glass iPhone. Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst who closely follows Apple from KGI Securities has spilled most of the information he knows about Apple’s next ideas. Apple itself has not made such comment to the rumors, but Kuo has a good track record of the company.

“Apple already uses glass casing for iPhone 4/ 4S, and non-Apple brands have also been using glass casings,” Kuo states. “We therefore think a drop test will not be problematic for glass casing. A glass casing may be slightly heavier than an aluminum one of the same thickness, but the difference is so small that the use of the thinner and lighter AMOLED panel will compensate for that.”iphones

There’s only one disadvantage: glass is more fragile so it’ll break easily. There has been several incidents of shattered iPhones in the past and it was less durable than the aluminum one. But the rumored 2017 glass iPhone is expected to be more durable and tougher, surviving constant drops.

Glass is usually heavier but changes will be made, according to Kuo. Apple will eventually switch from the traditional LED displays to AMOLED screens, which are lighter and thinner.

More enhancements, like a dual camera and stereo speakers, are big on the topic too. To add to a more premium look, the phone will offer wireless charging and antenna reception.

Right now, the glass iPhone is at its rumor stage and only time will tell. Consumers are waiting for more information about this new renovated design. So wait until 2017 and keep tabs on anything related to this!
