The first half of the game began with good defense played by both teams. The first goal came when Allison Pimentel took advantage of an unprotected goal post and scored. The Lady Braves continued to play great defense but struggled on the offensive side. The next goal came when Pimentel was able to kick the ball towards the goalie, which the goalie missed, and the ball continued to slowly roll until it hit the post causing it to go in, 2-0.

During the second half, both teams struggled to score, with multiple saves made by both goalies. Duarte finally scored when Lindsay Lathrop was able to kick the ball into the Braves goal after a hard attack. This gave Duarte inspiration, as they began to play more aggressively. As a result, they scored once again, bringing the score to a tie.

As the teams entered overtime, it was anyone’s game. With intensity running high, every scoring attempt came with “oohs” and “aaahs” from the crowd. However, Pimentel was able to save the game by scoring the final goal of the game. The Lady Braves defeated Duarte with a score of 3-2. They are now only one win away from first place with a record of 4-1.
