Wanting to Believe: The X-files Returns

Wanting to Believe: The X-files Returns

The X-Files is a popular sci-fi television show from the 1990’s that decided that it’s time as a show isn’t over yet. The series ran for nine seasons and the series ended with the X-files being shut down. It is set around two FBI agents, Fox “Spooky” Mulder, a believer in the supernatural and Dr. Dana Scully who was sent to work in the X-files to try and shut it down with evidence that it is no longer useful to the FBI. Scully follows Mulder on the job and was soon to discover that everything that Mulder believes in may not be all-that wrong. Mulder came to become a FBI agent because he saw his sister Samantha get abducted by aliens when he was young. Ever since then he has been a strong believer in the supernatural and wants to find out what happened to his sister in the process of discovering everything the government tries to hide about the supernatural.

Although it has been about 14 years since the X-files aired on television, there are many viewers and fans out there willing to watch new episodes to see arguably one of the greatest television duos of all time, Mulder and Scully. Even though the show first aired in 1993, there are still many fans of the television show. This show has also passed through generations popular amongst some teenagers. Upon popular demand, Fox revived the show for six episodes which premiered on Sunday, January 24th at 7 p.m.

There have been many ideas about what is to be the future of The X-files, if the show and season will end on a huge cliffhanger like it has been reported or if it will continue to be renewed for another season or a third movie. That only depends on the fans who are going to be watching the show on the Fox Network. So far, it looked as if the show is getting more good reviews than bad and they had an audience of over 16 million in America for their debut episode titled, “My Struggle.” At this point it looks like The X-files are beginning again on the right foot but it will be up to Fox to decide whether or not they want to keep this popular sci-fi television show running or ending it like they did almost 13 years ago.

Just share it.
