Watch, Play, Sing: Anticipated Entertainment of 2016

BALDWIN PARK, CA — 2016 has officially arrived and with it comes another year of anticipation. What will be this year’s blockbuster film? Will game creators invent an innovative game medium this year? What shows will keep us tuning in every week? With entertainment production value skyrocketing in the past decade, one never knows what to truly expect from the entertainment industry. Yet, entertainment junkies everywhere cannot help but research and anticipate what will soon come to the silver screen, game consoles, and their very own televisions.

On the movie front, animated films such as Finding Dory and Moana will be coming to theaters in 2016. The anticipation for the Finding Nemo sequel Finding Dory has been anticipated since Ellen Degeneres (voice of the beloved and forgetful Dory) announced its release date in 2013 on her talk show, The Ellen Show. Moana is a Disney animated film about a Polynesian/Pacific Islander princess and is catching a lot of attention with its diversity and unseen story.

Movie lovers will also be flocking to theaters because of this year’s lineup of live action movies. Such anticipated movies include Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Deadpool, X-Men: Apocalypse, and Suicide Squad. Films about superheroes (and supervillains in the case of Suicide Squad) have always been popular with crowds, so they surprise nobody as the most anticipated films of this year.

In 2016, many new video games will be released; there are few familiar names and many new ones. Final Fantasy XV will be one of the most anticipated movies of 2016, especially with the remake of Final Fantasy VII also coming up very soon. Dishonored 2, which had its release announced at E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) 2015, and highly anticipated Street Fighter V are also games that will be coming in 2016.

The music industry is always churning out new albums for music lovers to enjoy. Some of the most anticipated albums of 2016 include Kanye West’s Swish and Rihanna’s Anti. Frank Ocean will be releasing his follow-up to Channel Orange named Boys Don’t Cry, a release which has even Adele impatiently waiting.

2016 will certainly be a year of life-changing movies, industry-changing games, and history-changing music. All we, as entertainment lovers, can do is patiently wait for and thoroughly enjoy the movies, games, and music as soon as they are released.

Just share it.
