Girls’ Soccer vs. Wilson

Leonel Quintana and Damian Preciado

December 15th after school, the JV and Varsity Girl’s Soccer teams went up against the Wilson Wildcats in a battle for supremacy.  The Varsity team tied 1-1 and the JV team was edged out 2-1.

The BPHS Varsity team took the early lead in the first half and was able to hold off the aggressive Wildcats’ offensive players. Defensive player Reyna Gaytan was vital to the Braves’ defensive strategy as she valiantly blocked any attempts at scoring made by the opposing team. The first half ended with a score of 1-0.

The Wilson team entered the second half of the game with newfound energy and managed to keep the ball on the Braves’ side. The Wildcats’ offense gradually overtook the Braves’ defense and they managed to tie the game.

The Braves retaliated and the game became a relentless back-and-forth between the two teams, with no one gaining the upper hand. Despite the offensive plays led by Fatima Flores, the Braves were unable to reclaim the lead and the game ended in a tie.
