At first, the Red Top Kitchen doesn’t make sense. It is not a truly-authentic Vietnamese Restaurant – the decor was simple and lacked distinctive Vietnamese features. However, behind the cash register was the boba making station – equipped with the coolest containers that housed a myriad of colored powder for the delicious refreshments. Restaurant goers will be a bit confused to hear popular songs by artists like Shania Twain, Adele, and The Backstreet Boys. This blend of music creates an environment catering to the young and the young at heart.

To start, there were 4 spring rolls for $5.50 – a reasonable price considering the size and quality of the spring rolls. As an entree, the Red Top Special – the house pho special – and the Grilled Combo – vermicelli served with grilled chicken, grilled shrimp, and an egg roll. Both of the main course dishes were packed with immense flavor and had unparalleled economic value. The wonderfully prepared meals were washed down with two Thai Tea boba beverages, priced at a mere $2.50 each, and a passion fruit juice, $2.50, that would quench anyone’s thirst. After having taken the first sip of the cloud-like Thai tea, we were hooked, and overwhelmed with joy as we soon realized we had finally discovered an alternative source for all our boba needs.

Immediately after walking into the restaurant, enthusiastic employees asked about the party size. The service that followed was commendable and quite welcoming. The food arrived quickly and the waiter displayed an unwavering  dedication when providing us with an enjoyable experience. There seemed to have be a small language barrier which ultimately mattered very little due to the simplicity of the menu, but don’t expect to have very much small talk with your waiter. The food was served in a timely manner, and the waiter’s responsibilities were fulfilled, so it is safe to say the dining experience was above average.Rating
