ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas

BALDWIN PARK, CA — Despite the 80 degree sunny California weather, December is officially here. To welcome the holiday spirit, people are making numerous lifestyle changes. Some set their default radio stations to KOST 103.5 for endless holiday music. Some start planning out elaborate lists of gifts and dinner parties. Many will be tuning into ABC Family (soon to be Freeform) from December 1 to December 25 for the channel’s annual Christmas entertainment fest.

Since 1996, ABC Family and its predecessors have been showing Christmas specials and films throughout December for the Christmas season. The programming schedules throughout the years have included titles from adored Christmas-themed feature films, such as Elf, to Disney movies, such as Mary Poppins. Of course, with well-known Christmas classics such as The Nightmare Before Christmas and The Polar Express, 25 Days of Christmas is the perfect opportunity for family members to sit down and spend time together during the gift-giving season.

“This year, 25 Days of Christmas features classic Jim Henson Christmas special The Bells of Fraggle Rock and Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas, which have been re-mastered and are returning to television after several years,” says ABC Family’s official page for this year’s 25 Days of Christmas program line-up.

ABC Family’s name change to Freeform is not going to be its only New Year’s Resolution for 2016. Soon-to-be Freeform will also be premiering two new original series, Shadowhunters and Recovery Road. During 25 Days of Christmas, ABC Family will be airing Beyond the Shadows: The Making of Shadowhunters as an inside look into the upcoming show.
