Dons Swept by the Braves.. Again


BALDWIN PARK, CA– The Braves played against their crosstown rivals again on Monday, March 13th, but this time it was on the SV courts. The Braves continued their winning streak and beat the Dons, 12-9.

Michelle Del Toro expressed her excitement about winning saying, “It’s fun winning SV. Especially since there is a rivalry between SV and BP in every sport.”

Mixed doubles one, Kevin Chua and Sharon Tran, won both of their matches with scores of 21-5 and 21-15. Second mixed doubles, Michelle Del Toro and Jimmy Chen, were unfortunately only able to win one match, losing by a close call of 21-18 on the third set of the second match. Alan Le and Tuyen Ho, likewise, won the only match they played with a score of 21-13 and 21-12. The Braves were in a lead 4-1.

The doubles teams, both girls and boys, did fairly well on their matches as well. Chua and Chen won both their matches, but Le and Eugene Tran had a slow start. They lost their first match, but made up by winning their second match with a score of 21-17. Girls doubles, Shwe Nemyo and Tiffany Yu, lost their first match, but won their second match 21-12 and 21-14. Del Toro and Cindy Nguyen did an outstanding job and won both matches with scores of 21-15 and 21-7 for the first match and 21-9 and 21-13 for the second one. Braves didn’t slip and kept their lead, 10-3.

Unfortunately, Bai Ron Lin and Gabriel Musni, both boys singles, lost their matches, Lin with scores of 21-7 and 21-5 and Musni lost with scores of 17-5 and 21-13. Girls single one, Tuyen Ho, did a smashing job, winning both her matches, 21-7 and 21-9 in the first match and 21-10 and 21-13 for her second match. Lena Do unfortunately was not able to win any match. Braves won 12-9.

Badminton Braves took yet another win, leading in league, 5-0.
